Licenses of ADAMS running various versions of NX Motion will expire on October 28, 2009 or December 31, 2009. This will impact users of Motion application that are using the ADAMS solver.

If the solver is invoked following these two dates and a new license file has not been installed, the user will receive a pop up dialogue box that reads 'Error file not found' or 'Could not find a valid Simuation for Motion+ license'. In addition, the NX log file will report 'ADAMS license not found' or 'Could not find a valid Simulation for Motion+ license'.

Please use the following tables to determine which versions of NX Motion - Adams license are affected and follow the link for instructions on how to install a new license file.

To install the new license, first navigate to the '%UGII_BASE_DIR%\mech' directory and rename the 'license.dat' file so that a backup copy will remain. If you don't know where this is, open a DOS prompt by clicking Start->Run and type 'cmd' and type the following to get the location:

echo %UGII_BASE_DIR%

Then, download the accompanied 'license.dat' file and place it in the above noted directory in place of the file you just backed up. Once the new 'license.dat' is in place the license will be valid through March 15, 2014.
